Write Here Write Now(WHWN) is a ministry in service to the sacred stories of the LGBTI community. WHWN began and remains grounded in offering literary services and continues to grow to offer more and varied pastoral and ceremonial care to the LGBTI community.Because our communities are often marginalized and at risk, especially young LGBTI people, many of the traditional forms of literary support and development are not accessible to these writers. Financial issues and safety concerns create enormous stumbling blocks to the professional development of many talented emerging writers. The silencing effects of homophobia and transphobia often make it difficult for these writers to find workshops, peer critique groups, and retreats in which they feel safe enough to do the difficult and necessary work of writing.Speaking our stories and having them witnessed is as necessary as writing them. Therefore, WHWN also offers full pastoral care and hospitality such as compassionate listening, life coaching, community building, cookies, and soup.
